Competition

Scouting Resources has teamed up with Random House Children's Books to give away a brand new copy of the Scouting Skills book.

Scouting Skills contains a wealth of information on a variety of Scouting related topics and includes a Quick Tips section which contains some excellent advice such as "Wipe a white candle over the blades of a saw or edge of an axe to prevent rust forming" and "A dixie lid full of conkers at the door of a tent keeps the spiders out".

All you had to do to enter and be in with a chance of getting your hands on this excellent book was to send an email giving us your Quick Tip

Book Review

Scouting Resources was lucky enough to get a sneak preview of the book and it looks set to be a best seller!

The book is lavishly illustrated throughout and is cleanly laid out yet packs a wealth of information onto every page. The topics cover just about every aspect of the exciting life that Scouting people lead and will be an excellent addition to everyone's personal collection, be they experienced 'old hands' or those just joining the Scouting family.

With over 250 pages of full colour photos, diagrams and illustrations and well written text, Scouting Skills has advice to offer for every occasion. The information is bang up to date and detailed, without over burdening the reader with too many facts and figures. Each topic has its own chapter with some excellent links between chapters so you can dip in and out to read up on hiking before you hit those hills or perhaps have a quick revision of your compass work before a Scout competition.

Jacqui Bailey has done an excellent job with this book and I would highly recommend it to anyone in (or out!) of Scouting. What are you waiting for? Preorder your copy now!
